When Lindsay Ell steps on stage, she's a force of nature. And on Sunday afternoon, she came to Boots & Hearts and showed everyone at the Front Porch Stage exactly what she has to offer.

The Calgary native wasted no time in showing off her incredible guitar skills, along with her killer voice, as she rolled through a set of songs that fans have made themselves familiar with since the release of her album The Project almost exactly a year ago. As she played songs like Wildfire, Castle, and even older tracks like Trippin' On Us, we could see the Boots & Hearts fans singing along with her.

If you've seen her you know that her stage presence is outstanding. It's impossible not to keep your eyes locked on her as she plays her six-string or sings her songs (or her excellent taste in covers) for the crowd. She's got a star power that is undeniable and an easy charisma that comes from her genuine personality.

As Ell's set continued to songs including Waiting On You , Champagne, and even a cover of Come Together we watched country music lovers dance and enjoy themselves on the last day of the four-day festival. And while we know that Lindsay Ell has main stage talent and showmanship, there was something special about seeing her in a smaller, more intimate environment on Sunday at Boots & Hearts 2018.

With nominations for Female Artist and Album at the 2018 Canadian Country Music Association awards, and a performance scheduled for the September 9 awards show in Hamilton, ON, Lindsay Ell is prepped to take another leap forward. Whether she wins or not, this is another opportunity for her star to shine brightly in front of a lot of eyes.

Those nominations and the eyes and spotlights that come with them are well deserved. Lindsay Ell is a star. And Sunday at Boots & Hearts, the fortunate fans at the Front Porch Stage saw that. And they'll see it again soon.
