Chalkboard Gifts

By Dena13
Well hello there!  I'm sure not posting a lot I know.  We have been so busy with my kids coming and going this Summer. We just moved my daughter into her very own apartment at the Medical Center and she started her big girl job yesterday!  Woo Hoo! Every other move we knew she would be back because of schooling and whatnot, but this time she really is gone to her own place and paying her own rent. I am so happy for her to start her new adventure in life.  She is only 35 minutes away, so I can go visit any time. I made these chalkboards a while back and gave them as gifts to two special friends.

Chalkboard Gifts Chalkboard Gifts Now here's how I created them.  I bought the laser cut frames from Michaels and painted the inside with chalkboard paint, 2-3 coats.  I colored my images with something somewhat permanent that would run if it got wet and the color would last.  For the Gorjuss girl frame I stamped a script stamp on the filigree faintly and added a checkered boarder.  The clothes pin chalkboard heart was a separated purchase and I just glued that to the side.  I made  some loops at the bottom to hold a chalk pencil and glued ribbon at the top so that it could hang. These were a lot of fun and something a  bit different. I hope you like them! Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Dena
