Today we bring you the premiere of indie-pop duo Chalk and Numbers’ new cover of The Misfits’ classic “Angel Fuck”. The Booklyn outfit are known to have a 60s induced sense of nostalgia in their music, and while that commonly entails reverb-stimulated haze to get that old school feel, Chalk and Numbers stay away from that with front woman Sable Yong’s lush, flowing vocals and Andrew Pierce’s robust analog instrumentation. In the new cover, this conciseness reigns through, as the band doesn’t get caught up in the Misfit’s fast-paced punk style, rather keeping their own pace and spinning their own originality and surf-rock style into the blindingly reckless punk rock original.
