For those that attended CHA, I know you can relate to the days it takes to recover.  Especially because as wives, mothers, employees, etc, we come back to many things eagerly awaiting our return and attention.   I am still not caught up, but I am finally unpacked.   I thought I’d better take time to share some of my highlights from CHA Winter before it’s already time for CHA Summer Create & Connect.

However, CHA Winter 2013 was a great time for me.  This time I was not working in a booth, and yet I was busier than ever.  I hope to share a few projects with you over the next few posts of projects that I was holding back while waiting for CHA.

For now, I want to share some of my own personal highlights from CHA.

First, this year was exciting for the Designer member section of CHA.  This year, the Designer Showcase was actually on the Trade Show floor.  It was exciting to be a part of this and to have samples of our work on display the entire show and easily accessible to all CHA attendees.  This was my table display with samples of my works from all year.   Many of us use projects that we’ve created throughout the entire year rather than brand new pieces so that you get an overall idea of what we do without giving away any secret projects we may be working on.   I created one new piece for my display and that is the center mixed-media canvas.  I’ll share more of that in a later post and in much greater detail, because it is truly a mixed-media piece.  Taking the time to create the display itself is a piece of work and many CHA Designer members shined in this display this year.  I feel that mine suited me and my style as well as highlighting all the products I work with.

I have to say that the BEST part of CHA is meeting up with my designer friends from all over the world as well as the chance to meet manufacturers who produce all the great products I work with as well as meet new manufacturers who I have product I WANT to work with.

This is me with Keri Sallee.   I was so lucky to have met her last year.   I have to tell you that this girl holds a special place in my heart.   We are soul sisters and share the same birthday.   She has an amazing true spirit and is absolutely adorable.   Though I have to admit I’m jealous that she can be so cute and look like 12 even though she’s a busy mom.

I’m fortunate to be DT coordinator for some amazing teams right now; Helmar and Susan K Weckesser, Inc.   It was exciting to be able to talk to some teammates in person and meet some for the very first time.

Carisa Zglobicki and me.  I work with Carisa on the Helmar team and she did some freelance design for CSW Distributors booth, which I designed this year.  She also produces Designed to Color

Rita Barakat is a DT member for Susan K Weckesser, Inc as well as many others.   She was working in the Faber-Castell booth quite a bit.

Jen Evans was a former Helmar DT member.   She is now working with various companies and worked with the famous Heidi Swapp throughout CHA.

Einet Kessler flew all the way from Israel.  She is a co-member of the Susan K Weckesser Inc Design Team.   She is so funny and so very sweet.

Me and Sally Lynn MacDonald.  She was on the Helmar Education team with me. She is such a sweet person and I’m honored to know her.

And we cannot forget the amazingly fun time I had celebrating a birthday with my special friend and CHA Mom, Martha Richardson.   Lots of laughs this night with Mandy Collins, Martha Richardson, Tracy Weinzapfel, Catherine Scanlon, and Catherine Bickford.

Silly pictures late at night; Birgit Koopsen Bernstein, Liz Hicks, me; Wendy Senger, Holly Simoni, Birgit Bernstein, Nathalie Kalbach and me.  Sorry, not the best pictures, but we didn’t have the best lighting and you can tell we are starting to get tired.  LOL.

I didn’t take pictures with half the people I wanted to.  It’s amazing how busy you can become and everyone there is busy so trying to catch up is not as easy as it sounds.

So, these are some of my fun highlights.  I’ll share more later about some projects and things I created for the CHA show as well as something fun I created at CHA.

Until next time.   Thanks for stopping by.
