CFA: MCMP Summer School on Mathematical Philosophy for Female Students

The MCMP is organising the fifth edition of the Summer School on Mathematical Philosophy for Female Students, and invites applications until March 5, 2018.

PROGRAM
===============
This year the focus will be on metaphysics. More specifically, we will have the following lecture streams:

1. Friederike Moltmann (Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique), on “The Ontology of Natural Language”
2. Barbara Vetter (Freie Universität Berlin), on “Modality: Metaphysics, Logic, Semantics”
3. Jo E. Wolff (King’s College London), on “Science and Metaphysics”

APPLICATION
===============
The summer school is open to women with a keen interest in mathematical philosophy. Applicants should be students of philosophy (or philosophically minded logicians or scientists) at an advanced undergraduate level, in a master program, or at an early PhD level. To apply for participation, please fill out our application form, and send it together with a cover letter (including a statement of motivation) and your CV (ideally everything in one pdf file) to mathsummer2018@lrz.uni-muenchen.de. A separate letter of recommendation should be sent to the same address. There will be an opportunity for some of the students at the summer shool to present their own research; if you would be interested in doing so, please include an abstract (up to 500 words) together with your application documents. The deadline for applications is March 5, 2018. Decisions will be made by March 20, 2018.

The participation fee is 200€. (Note that the participation fee does not cover accommodation expenses.) The language of all events will be English.
