I have a question for this episode of CerebralMix… Are show notes even necessary? I mean I go on here rambling about some random topic from week to week and yet the show seems to be most self-explanatory. And especially this poetry series is more self-explanatory than just about anything: it’s just a bunch of music and poetry. That’s it.
Sure I could try to write an explication of one or two of the poems. But that isn’t what the show is about, and you can find much better sources than me if you want detailed information about the work. (And, honestly, my feeling is that art shouldn’t be explained, it should be what you experience of it… And this show already provides a different frame in which to experience these works.)
Someone once said to me that they should I should talk about the music. My feelings against that are even stronger than my feelings about writing poetry explications.
So I really don’t know what to write anymore. Hit me up in the comments if you have any suggestions.
