CerebralMix 2015-07-19: Wizard of Oz Ep 6

If this had been a contemporary children’s book the end would have likely been in these chapters: the Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion get their rewards… Well, at least they are given symbolic rewards… The Wizard’s way of tricking them into thinking they have the very qualities they thought they were lacking. (This is another point we can argue about the ethics of, just like the previous episode, but I won’t take that up for now.)

However, when it comes to Dorothy, the Wizard has a more difficult problem: she isn’t in need of some quality. She wants to return home, something the Wizard himself hasn’t been able to do. However, he now plans a way to do it: build a balloon and float back to the place Dorothy came from. But things go awry, and the Wizard ends up floating off without Dorothy.

So, in the Wizard’s absence, the companions come up with a new plan to get Dororthy home…
