Yes, I’m a day late (but not a dollar short) in posting CerebralMix 2015-05-31: Ulysses Episode Twenty-Two. However, sometimes real life gets in the way of getting all of things we want to do done.
With this episode we are reaching the conclusion of Ulysses. One more show to go. This episode did surprise me a little bit. There are some definitely rather adult passages that I wouldn’t have expected to hear from a female perspective. Which I think is awesome. Why? Because it shows that Joyce was not afraid to write from a female perspective and still have them communicate on the same level as men. IOW – it seems to me that in his perspective, women were completely equal with men. Which, in the time period in which Ulysses was written is something of an accomplishment.
Keep listening next week for the conclusion of Ulysses. And, after Ulysses we’re off to the land of Oz.
