HOLLYWOOD—Celebrities and pets go hand in hand, especially in Beverly Hills. One thing is for sure, you can always spot your favorite stars with their four-legged, fluffy, furry friends.
Depending on the size of their pooch, some of them carry them in baby strollers and some in those large tote bags. Not that I’m comparing the West with the East, but you’ll see some celebrities also in the Hamptons this summer doing the exact same thing.
Whether you have a cat or a dog, nothing’s too good for family or best friends. You don’t have to be a celebrity to have a furry friend, but keep in mind that some of the pups will cost more than $1,000. Then if you want to indulge them in Juicy Couture or Ralph Lauren, the accessories will also add up in terms of cost. From adorable, extravagant fountain dog bowls to iPhone apps that you can either install for free or for a nominal charge to keep track of your dog. They have: PetMD Finder, Fail Dogs, Dog-A-Log, Off Leash and DogiDuty, just to name a few.
From Oprah Winfrey to former president Bill Clinton, everyone loves man’s best friend. According to the Animal World Network, many celebrities have pets that they love. Jessica Simpson loves her dog Daisy, Jessica Alba has a beautiful pug named Sid, Hilary Duff has Chiquita, Demi Moore has a new dog named Vida Blue, Adam Sandler has his beloved dog Meatball, Nicole Richie has her Shih Tzu Honeychild, Oprah Winfrey has her cocker spaniels Sophie and Solomon along with her golden retrievers Luke, Layla and Gracie.
Entrepreneur Martha Stewart loves both dogs and cats. She has four chow chows: Empress Woo, Zu-Zu, Paw-Paw and Cin-Cinalong. And she also has seven Himalayan cats: Bartok (Polish for Bart), Teeny, Weeny, Berlioz, Mozart, Vivaldi and Verdi.
Paris Hilton loves her chihuahuas Tinkerbell and Bambi. Scarlett Johansson along with Hillary Duff love their chihuahuas. Drew Barrymore loves her dog Flossie. Victoria Beckham, who loves to tweet, had a new addition to the Beckham family: a new puppy! According to Pawnation, the dog’s name is Scarlet and she’s a French bulldog who will keep company to the other pet, English bulldog Coco.
Actor, author, columnist and entertainment editor of Canyon News Tommy Garrett has a passion for miniature Schnauzers. He has a white chocolate-colored boy named Baxter. The most common color is the salt-and-pepper, which I love, along with pure black or white, and I’ve seen the brown and white ones too. They’re also known to have their tails docked and clipped ears. There is something about the miniature Schnauzer that makes them stand out. Whether it’s their appearance or intelligence, the breed that originated in Germany is one of my all-time favorites.
Rose’s Scoop: This video really stands out on YouTube, since it’s about the talents of this amazing miniature Schnauzer: youtube.com/watch?v=GPvZxqHM4co.
