Cascade Platinum Pacs and the #MyPlatinum Contest

Cascade Platinum Pacs Review 

As a stay at home mom of three kids, I can tell you one thing is for sure: if I’m not doing laundry, I’m doing the dishes, and both are endless.

Since I need to do the dishes several times a day, I need to use a dishwashing detergent that will clean the dishes the first time and leave them shiny without any cloudy residue. It can be so frustrating to have to wash some of the dishes by hand when they don’t come out as clean as expected! I have tried several of the name brand detergents and tablets as well as several store brand products, and so far only one comes close to getting the dishes clean with a shiny outcome.

The product sample I received was Cascade Platinum Dishwashing Pacs, in Lemon Burst.  According to the packaging, Cascade Platinum Pacs promise to:

• Power away tough, 24-hour stuck-on food
• Eliminate the need to pre-wash dishes
• Help maintain the look of new machines and prevent hard-water film build up
• Deliver exceptional dishware shine

These pacs have a triple action formula designed to do all of the above, with the help of Dawn’s grease fighting power. I am a regular user of another brand of dish detergent powder tablets, so I was excited to try out Cascade to see how they compare. First thing I noticed was how colorful the tab was, which does catch the eye but unfortunately is also very appealing to little kids (my 2.5 year old daughter wanted some of the ‘candy’…but Mommy explained to her they're not food and locked them up tight!). The top of it is filled with a liquid while underneath is a packed powder. To test its cleaning power, I put some dishes in the dishwasher (which, by the way, recommends Cascade anyway…see the photo below!) that were pretty dirty and not rinsed off. I wanted to see how well the Cascade tabs were able to clear away the food stuck on the dishes from the previous night’s dinner (sometimes I’m just too tired to clean the dishes at night!).  I normally need to pre-rinse the dishes, glasses, bottles, etc., but since the Cascade Pacs said I didn’t need to, I didn’t and saved some time! The dishes came out perfectly clean! I also noticed that my glasses and silverware were nice and shiny and not cloudy as they tend to be after I wash them using the other brand’s tabs.

Take Photos of Your Meal Creations? Read This!
