I had an errand on rue de la Pompe today. There was a big traffic jam and I couldn't figure out why till I got up to the level of the rue Nicolo, where three cops were blocking cars from turning into the rue Nicolo as I drove down rue de la Pompe today. It was causing chaos, because it was the same time schools get out, in a neighborhood full of private schools and one-way streets.
I couldn't figure out why there were so many cop cars until slightly later when I turned on Radio France Info. The first lady of France is in the Clinique de la Muette on rue Nicolo, giving birth.
