This weekend was supposed to be filled with exciting plans, meet-ups, and productivity, but life had other plans for me. February 24 and 25, 2018, were meant to be packed with events, yet I found myself stuck in bed, feeling weak and unable to do anything. It’s frustrating when you have everything scheduled, only to be forced to cancel because of unexpected sickness. Instead of going out and making memories, I was wrapped in a blanket, battling body aches and fatigue.As much as I wanted to push through and go about my planned activities, my body simply wouldn’t cooperate. Sometimes, no matter how much we resist, we have to listen to what our body needs—rest and recovery. It’s a reminder that health always comes first, and missing out on plans is okay if it means taking care of yourself. Though I spent the weekend in bed instead of outside having fun, I took this as an opportunity to slow down, recharge, and remind myself that it’s okay to pause when needed.
