You can’t help but notice the large, eye-catching building that mimics a typical long ago town. What a beautiful exterior!

The Wabash and Eerie Canal Interpretive Center and Museum is a donations-only attraction. So, throw in several bucks and get ready for a fun step back in time.

Kids will easily entertain themselves at the miniature canal boat with locks. Yes, it’s a water feature!

Little hands love to open and close the locks, blocking or enabling the bright canal boat to float its way through. I really started to wonder if they would ever let us leave! We camped out at this spot for a good long time.

Our youngest was a bit more than slightly obsessed with the puzzle right nearby. Everyone wanted a turn building with the keystone block nearby! What neat ideas to get kids thinking.

That’s not all! Find dress-up clothing, a life-sized replica of the living quarters on a canal boat, and in the warmer months, you can take a ride on the 19th century replica of a canal boat.

It’s a combination of regional and state history and hands-on fun at this Indiana museum. No matter how you look at it, a visit to the Wabash and Eerie Canal Interpretive Center and Museum is a day well spent!
