Camping Along the Way – First Stop

“On the road again, just can’t wait to get on the road again…”  I hear that song in my head every time I drive any distance now.  I got a late start Monday from home and was overwhelmed by the construction and accidents along I95 through Florida.  A trip that should have taken 4 hours took me over 6.  Stuck in traffic for much of that.  Yes, I was driving a bit slower than usual since I’m towing Glinda, but I sat on 95 not moving quite a few times.  There were accidents in each construction zone.  Come on people, slow down, back off the person in front of you, and we will all get there safer and sooner.

I did make a pit stop to stretch my legs.

It was such a long ride, that I stopped for the night at Walkabout Campground in Woodbine, Georgia, not too far into the state line.  I was getting tired and knew I wanted to park before it was dark.  The campground was a simple, but clean and friendly campground.  I got all set up and settled in for my first night just before it turned dark.  And the campground had wifi! How awesome is that?  Here is a little video from that first night

I got a good night’s sleep.  In fact, I slept so well, I did not want to wake up.

I have to admit, it was nice to wake up in my own familiar surroundings.  I decided to start the morning off with a hearty breakfast of eggs and grits with toast and fresh coffee.
