One thing I love about summer is all of the gatherings. People start to show their faces a little more and come out of their winter shells. This means that parties and gatherings are happening much more frequently and with it comes food. I love coming up with fun and easy recipe ideas for gatherings that are sure to impress not only your guests, but their tastebuds. And this summer, I'm positive that this Campfire Cinnamon Stick recipe will do the trick.
There are few things more nostalgic for me than cooking food over a campfire. From s'mores to dutch oven dinners, campfire food is just plain fun! And these Campfire Cinnamon Sticks are no different. Plus, they're super easy to prepare and pair perfectly with Red Baron Pizza.
I picked up both a Red Baron Brick Oven Pepperoni Pizza and a Red Baron Classic Supreme Pizza from Walmart to pair with my Campfire Cinnamon Sticks, and it made for such a fun and delicious meal that would please any party goer or camper! Now you, your friends, and your family can all come together over the timeless pizza. Its perfect crust (from thin to brick oven) has crispy, flaky layers that are irresistibly unique - it's no wonder this pizza has been around for 40 years!
To make the Campfire Cinnamon Sticks you will need:
pizza dough (I used a pre made dough to save time)
6 TBSP butter
2 TBSP sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
Directions:
Roll your pizza dough out onto a flat surface. In a microwave or over a stove on low heat - melt your butter, cinnamon, and sugar together - string frequently. Spread your butter mixture over the top of your pizza dough, fold it in half, then cut into long 1" strips.
Gather fresh sticks and branches, then sand them down and clean them off to prepare them for cooking. Wrap your cinnamon stick dough around the branches, starting at the top of the branch and twisting until it's fully wrapped. Bake over a fire like a s'more, until dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Be sure to serve Red Baron Pizza at your next gathering. One bite and the whole family will be asking for more!
