Oh hey, Release Day. We love you, like for real. Here’s why: Today, Camera Obscura releases a new record that’s bursting with an alarming amount of pop brilliance and energy. Their sound is earnest, but still maintains the brainy bounce and signature flair we fell in love with over a decade ago. The ever-amazing, art-folk savants, Portugal. The Man, make a stunning return with their Danger Mouse-produced new record — it’s, well, listen to it now. Queens of the Stone Age releases their sixth album today, featuring more of their sweaty, stadium-worthy rock and roll that we’ve come to both expect and adore.

Formerly one half of the venerable indie rock legends, The Fiery Furnaces, Eleanor Friedberger has surfaced as a high gravity solo artist with her own straightforward, songwriting prowess, and today she releases her second record that’s honest, endearing and, well, Personal. GRMLN offers his debut full-length today, drenched in grunge goodness and undeniably catchy choruses, and Cali rockers, Rogue Wave, are dropping record number five, one that’s warm and sweet on the ears. Dead Stars are back with their ever-tasty shoegaze fuzz, giving us an EP bound to make us dance and sing the night away. Finally, Canadian experimental prog-pop darlings, We Are the City, are back with a profound and almost overwhelming new record that has “new favorite” written all over it.
