Cahoots Soap Company: Converse, Indiana–Those aren’t Popsicles, that is soap!

Great-smelling things come in recyclable or biodegradable packages–especially if you happen to be at Cahoots Soap Company in Converse, Indiana.

This is all-natural soap but don’t think it only comes  in boring bars!

Sure, there’s bar soap, but it’s awesome bar soap! Really, this is pretty stuff.

Visually, it’s very appealing. Streaks of color or multi-colored patterns run through it. And the scents? Amazing! You’ll find scents like mango, oat and honey, brown sugar and fig (which I really liked), apricot freesia, vanilla vanilla, and even special blends like outdoorsmen and gardeners.

I couldn’t leave this Grant County shop without buying a wooden soap dish and a bar of the fresh-smelling Eucalyptus and Spearmint Soap. It’s definitely encouraged our youngest to wash his hands on his own free will!

Owner Lindsay churns out the vegan soaps (meaning animal- and fat-free) in her spacious workroom. She has a love for the science of it all–and it’s really rather an impressive set up!  She let us wander through her spacious back room and wow…making soap is quite a process! It has to cure for a whole month, so it’s something she always has to stay on top of.

She got her start by making soap in her kitchen and when her soap-making business boomed, she was thrilled to expand. Her Indiana town shop today is warm, welcoming, and you can bet it smells good!

More than just bars of soap, you’ll find body butter, lip balm, candles, sprays, and then some. Whatever you find, it’s sure to please. Oh–and she’ll even ship it here in the US.
