"The Pittsburgh Penguins have reached the halfway point of the 2016-17 season. Before looking ahead to the next half, here is a look at the first 41 games of the season by the numbers.
390: Consecutive days the Pens went without losing back-to-back games in regulation, snapped only Thursday.
140: Goals scored this season, the second most in the NHL (144, NY Rangers).
64: Goals scored by the Pens in the month of December, most in the NHL.
57: Points by the team, thanks to a 26-10-5 record.
+23: Goals scored vs. goals against differential.
26: Goals for Sidney Crosby in just 35 games played. Crosby's 26 goals lead the NHL, despite playing in 7 less games than second-place Jeff Carter (22 goals in 40 contests).
+24: Justin Schultz's plus-minus number, second-best in the entire NHL.
18-2-2: Record at PPG Paints Arena, the best home mark in the NHL.
17-2-2: Pittsburgh's record when Sidney Crosby scores a goal, and 21-4-3 when he notches a point.
18-4-2: The Pens' record when outshooting their opponent.
14-0-0: Pittsburgh's record when leading after 2 periods.
13-4-3 vs. 13-6-2: The Pens' record when scoring first (former) as opposed to surrendering the first goal (latter).
12-0-5: Pittsburgh's record in 1-goal games.
7: Justin Schultz's ranking among NHL defenseman in scoring with his 26 points (7G-19A). He led all blueliners in scoring during the month of December with 18 points (6G-12A).
7-9-1: The Pens' record when trailing after 2 periods, the best record in the NHL.
2: Number of Pens in the top-3 in NHL scoring (Crosby and Malkin are both tied for 2nd in the NHL with 45 points with Chicago's Patrick Kane)."
