Burly Goat Doppelbock – Granville Island Brewing

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Granville Island Brewing out of Vancouver comes their new "Burly Goat Doppelbock". This year Kevin has changed things up for the Burly Goat by changing the style. The beer pours a chestnut brown colour with an off white head. The aroma consists of toffee, dark fruits and some chocolate. The flavour is of toffee, chocolate, dark fruits, sweetness and mild bitterness. The alcohol content comes in at 7.9% with an IBU of 25. Kevin really hit it out of the park with this one. I could imagine drinking quite a few more of these.

Commercial Description: This jacked up beast of a dark lager is wildly untamed. Full-bodied, full-flavoured and loaded with full fledged badassery. Deal with it.

Food pairing as per brewery: Smoked ham or roasted pork
