While bullying is an issue many will come across during their life.  Some stand up to the bully and others become a ‘victim’. Many schools, work places etc.. have started to provide support to ensure it doesn’t get out of hand.

What many don’t realize is that many people deal with bullying on a daily basis alone they keep it to themselves believing the bullies will eventually stop and give up.

Bullying can include any of the following:

  • name calling and put downs
  • spreading of rumors/lies
  • physical violence/attacks
  • threats and intimidation
  • teasing
  • stealing of money or other property
  • exclusion from a group or club
  • ignoring or leaving someone out

Above are typical signs of bullying, although now with many having access to the Internet the new ‘trend’ is Cyber bullying. Threatening a person, spreading lies and rumours, editing photographs to make in appropriate gestures and much more. It has become much easier to do this with a simple click of a button. Some may find  it funny or harmless but what they do not realise is that actually they may be at risk of destroying somebodies life.

In the public eye recently there has been several cases of people taking their own lives as it simply has become too much. The bullying had pushed them over the edge.

So I ask next time you think its a joke or funny to spread a rumor think about how it will be effecting the person of whom your talking about. Remember many people have things going on behing closed doors your next insult or comment may just be the last words they hear.
