British Company Invents 3D Printer That Prints Edible Fruit

Posted on the 26 May 2014 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

The company haven’t been able to print these fruit into actual fruity shapes, since these fruit are synthetic, but these 3D fruit can be produced in any flavor, within just a few seconds.

“The printer uses a molecular-gastronomy technique called spherification. By combining individual liquid droplets with different flavours into a desired shape, it allows the creation of interesting bespoke fruits,” Dovetailed wrote on its website. “It is aimed at chefs, foodies and anyone interested in making creative dining experiences.”

Just a few months ago, a company unveiled 3D printed guns,  Dita Von Teese also showed-off a 3D printed dress, then came a NASA-backed project for 3D printing Pizza and now 3D fruit, I think it will only be a matter of time before we start 3D printing humans. Wouldn’t you agree?
