Though we weren’t around during the prehistoric ages, we can only hope that dinosaurs sounded something like Brisbane 10-piece Velociraptor. Equal parts fun and pop, Velociraptor have a knack for crafting short and sweet tunes that combine the spirit of The Ramones with the sunny influence of Brisbane indie-pop. Their latest ridiculously addictive track, “Sneakers”, is the second single off their upcoming, self-titled debut, and boy will it get your hips a-shakin’. With hooks for days and a syncopated drum beat that won’t quit, you can’t help but get swept into singer Jeremy Neale crooning “Don’t you wanna be my baby?” as he fights to regain a lost love. It’s adorable in its overt sincerity with a breezy feeling that will hypnotize you into thinking “one more time, just one more time now…” Their debut will be out later this month, but check out their equally catchy first single, “Ramona“, until then.
