The Heritage Foundation held a panel to discuss what happened when 4 Americans died n Benghazi. One of the panelist is a woman named Brigitte Gabriel. I’d never heard of her until today, but she’s described in an email I received as:
“. . . perhaps the bravest, most erudite spokeswoman on Islamic Muslim culture in the world. There is a Jihad out for her life and they have specifically said she will be murdered at one of her speaking engagements while on stage; hence she has a body guard . . . and no cameras are permitted because they can look like weapons. She’s has sacrificed greatly and continues to do so because of the grave importance of her message.”.During the Heritage Foundation panel, a Muslim activist posed a question that implied that America (or at least the Heritage Foundation panel) was unfairly biased against peaceful majority of Muslims.
The first panelist delivered a response that was fairly predictable and dull.
Then, panelist Brigitte Gabriel begins to speak at about 4:10 into the video and lays into the Muslim activist in no uncertain terms. She points out that repeatedly, throughout history, “The peaceful majority were irrelevant” and recommends that we “take political correctness and throw it in the garbage where it belongs!”
If you’re not a Muslim, Miss Gabriel may make you cheer. She knows that the “religion of peace” is dangerously predisposed to violence, and she’s more than willing to say so. I think she might be for real. I think she gives a damn about this country. She belongs in Congress. Maybe the Senate.

Here’s another, longer video where Brigitte Gabriel explains her past and her ideas. She was born in Lebanon and raised as a Christian. When radical Muslims bombed her home, she was a child. She was trapped in the rubble, but survived. She understands the “religion of peace” and she’s not afraid to share her understanding. She does not mince words. She is warning us to be extremely careful when dealing with Muslims.
I do have one objection to Ms. Gabriel: she believes the Muslims were responsible for the 9/11 attacks. I don’t know what the precise truth is, but like about half of the rest of America, I believe 9/11 was perpetrated by our own government. I have a hard time understanding how Miss Gabriel could blame the Muslims for 9/11. Is she that unimaginative? Or does she cling to her explanation of 9/11 as a necessary component of her world view?
