Not many people can say without lying through their teeth, “I decided to start a really successful experimental rock band in high school while eating a muffin at lunch with my friends.” Montreal’s Braids can, and they’re making us all jealous in the process by coming out with more consistently great music. The weird-pop art rockers are at it once again this week, releasing the second track, “Hossak”, off their upcoming sophomore album, Flourish//Perish (out August 20th). Following the out-of-this-world video for their song “In Kind”, released a few weeks ago, ”Hossak” retains the same ethereal sound with a more mellow and eerie tone. This electronically charged track features a shuddering drum-guitar combo that accentuates Raphaelle Standell-Preston’s Bjork-esque vocals. Listen to “Hossak” above, be jealous and enjoy!
