By Lucybirdbooks @lucybirdbooks

Hia readers!

Almost the end of day 2 of Bout of Books. I feel like this is a great way to spend a week of

Here are my goals…

  1. Catch up to my goodreads reading challenge goal (apparently I’m 3 books behind, even after finishing one yesterday)
  2. Finish my two current reads (I’ve finished 1 already!)
  3. Read my next book group read
  4. Participate in instagram and twitter/daily challenges every day.

#Favourites is actually pretty difficult to define. There are those which you've read and read again and are almost part of you (#harrypotter #hisdarkmaterials). Those that are special because of the way they connect to you (#fragilelives #handlewithcare) Those you have only reas once but stay with you and you recommend to everyone (#yesmeansyes #LifeAfterLife) those that you completely fell into and are almost scared to read again in case they don't meet up to your memories (#PopCo #shadesofgrey). Those you enjoyed at the time but realised how much you had been enjoying once you're done (#WhenTheMoonisLow). The ones you loved at the time but can't really recall now (#thewarofdonemmanuelsnetherparts) What are your favourites? #bob26igphoto #readathon #books #bookstagram

I started reading ‘Early Riser’ last night and I’m about 85 pages in. I’m really enjoying this one and so glad to get back to reading some Fforde, it has been too long. It is also pretty ideal for readathoning because of the short chapters which mean I can read a little between tasks more easily.

I’m about 3/4 of the way through ‘Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud’ now and enjoying that one too. I have especially liked the Hilary Clinton and Jennifer Weiner chapters.

Today’s daily challenge…

is about books we would like to see in another medium. This is a tough one for me because I don’t tend to rate adaptations, even though I do like to go so I can criticise!

I’ve seen the ballet of ‘Raven Girl’ and I think it would be interesting to see it as a short TV show (something like a 3 episode maybe) where they plump out the story a little (it’s a graphic novel, and short, but I think there are places it could be plumped up which could add to the story rather than just going off the lines.). Or it could be done as a film short.

‘The Power’ would make a good film as well I think. In fact I feel like I heard something about that….almost a TV show is apparently being made.

Are you joining in with Bout of Books? How are you doing?

If you haven’t joined but would like to you have until midnight to sign up
