Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Review & Swatches

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox

Hi everyone!
The lovelies over at the Bourjois Press Office sent me across a couple of their new Rouge Edition Velvets to try. The shades I asked for were 05 & 08.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Review & SwatchesThe idea of these are that they go on like a gloss, dry as a velvety matte lipstick/stain.
I was going on a night out with the girls and decided that I would put the red one to the test (08 – Grand Cru).
I applied this at roughly 6.45pm, and I was out until roughly 1am, I did reapply this once, must to my sisters dismay as they informed me “Holly, You don’t need to apply anymore?” I just felt strange not reapplying it because normally I touch my lipstick up 2/3 times on a night out but I genuinely didn’t need to with this, it lasted absolutely ages!
I did notice the color left a stain on my glass when I was having a drink, but I really don’t know any lip product that doesn’t leave a bit of residue!
This goes on smoothly and dries within a minute or so.  The finish is completely matte and with there being 8 shades to choose from you’re more than likely to find a shade that suits you.
I have swatched the two colours below, the pink one is called ‘Ole Flamingo’ and the red one as I mentioned before is called ‘Grand Cru’.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Review & SwatchesI think these are a little bit similar to the Rimmel Apocalips but on a much better scale – No offense to Rimmel, I like the Apocalips but they do transfer to the teeth easily and I dislike that – these ones by Bourjois don’t do that and at £8.99 they don’t exactly break the bank either.
If you’d like to buy these or take a look at their shades, visit Boots where they are stocked at £8.99.
