Montreal-native, is back with the start of the sophomore chapter in his country music career. His new single, Born To Ride acts as the first drop and announcement companion to his second EP, New Ink which is scheduled to drop on November 13, 2020.

But before that, we caught up with Manny Blu for his very first round of 5 Quick Questions!

Blu says there's more rock in his new music, and all of that stars with Born To Ride. Written by heavyweight songwriters Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman and Josh Osborne - this one was a strong choice to start with. And while we haven't yet heard the full EP - we want to.

Manny Blu - Born To Ride

As he looked for that new rock edge in his new music, Manny Blu has looked to the influence of artists like Brantley Gilbert, The Cadillac Three, and Jason Aldean. And if you're going to look for influence to do something you love, those three acts have all set a pretty good example to follow so far. But even if it's going to have some significant rock and roll in the mix, this is still country music, and country music tells stories and connects.

In a statement about the new EP, Blu says, "Music is one of the most powerful elements to someone's life. I think it can make what someone is going through ok, it can motivate, and empower people - so I tried to add a little piece of each of those things into New Ink."

He's not wrong, music is powerful, that's part of what we love about it and we're always happy when artists embrace that part of things.
