Boots Laboratories Optiva Skincare Range – Review

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

I was given the opportunity to put 5 products from the Boots Laboratories Optiva Skincare Range to the test for 2 weeks and here are my thoughts on the line, including the Skin Balancing Cleanser Radiance Refresh Tonic, Aqua Capture Serum, Comforting Day Cream and Nourishing Night Cream!

The range is targeted towards those with dehydrated or dry skin and as Winter has come along, my skin has definitely needed a lot more moisture to combat the elements. From the two week trial period I was set, I found the range really gentle on the skin and it worked well to add a boost of hydration.

The Skin Balancing Cleanser was a gentle, no rinse needed formula which you simply wiped off. The formula wasn’t too heavy on the skin and it did well as a first cleanse, to remove the first layer of makeup. On the makeup free days, it helped remove any excess oil, dirt and grime for the skin, leaving it feeling moisturised.

One of my favourites from the range, the Radiance Refresh Tonic had a lovely formula which helped refresh the skin and add a level of moisture to help aid the absorption of the other skincare products. My skin was left feeling hydrated and soft after use and there was no tightness at all.

The Aqua Capture Serum absorbed well into the skin whilst leaving it supple and smooth. Paired with the Comforting Day Cream andNourishing Night Cream, the combos were hydrating for the day without being too heavy or producing any excess oil on the skin and the creams worked well and absorbed into the skin nicely.

Overall, the range adds a nice layer of moisture to the skin and is a great budget friendly option for those without any major skincare concerns, other than some dryness or dehydration! My skin has been quite a lot more dehydrated from a number of factors and these products have worked well to combat that, though for my skin, I need a moisturiser that is a little more rich in texture and hydration, at the moment.

The Boots Laboratories Optiva Skincare Range is available from Amcal Chemists.
