In the 18 years since Shania Twain’s The Woman In Me, there has been a shift country music. Especially among the ladies. However, traditional country hasn’t disappeared. In fact, we witnessed it live and in person on the Front Porch Stage at Boots & Hearts on Sunday.

On a personal note, it was great to see Whitney Rose on stage at Boots & Hearts this week because it was only 4 days earlier that she played at the Toronto Botanical Garden as part of the The Edwards Summer Music Series: Gardens of Song. Oh ya, then she popped down to Lou Dawg’s on King West for some karaoke with the gang.
If you have a chance to see Whitney and her band on a stage anywhere, take it. You’ll be treated to a sweet girl with a classic country sound and a mix of original tunes that will make her a star and covers like Tom T. Hall’s Harper Valley PTA that she busted out in her set and Boots & Hearts.
Be prepared to tap your feet, smile and sing along. It’s going to happen.
Work Hard, Play Harder, Be Awesome.
