Bookshelf Redo
Back in the summer, I helped one of my best friends and her family clean out her Mamaw’s house for a garage sale. This bookshelf was originally for sell. After walking by it a million times, I convinced my friend that this would make a great addition to the nursery with a little update.

This was how it looked in it’s original condition. It was actually in good shape but she already has a wood crib and wood dresser in the nursery. That’s a lot of wood tones going on. So we decided to take her crib bedding and match the red to bring in more color.

I’m not usually a sander but this bookshelf had a shiny finish. I sanded enough to knock that off and create a surface that the paint could adhere to. We taped off the back so that we could keep it black.

Two coats of paint later, we had a beautifully new finished bookshelf. It already holds so many things that the baby will need. She actually changed out the baskets and now has four on the bottom but I didn’t get a picture of that.

I did snap some pictures of the whole nursery that I’m going to share. They have such a fun theme for a boys room and I think it turned out really cute!
Thanks for dropping in!
