How to Help Your Child Discover Life Lessons While Reading Bee Helpful
Parents and children face challenges of all sizes in the world we live in today. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed and too small to solve and overcome them. Other times we feel alone in our struggles and that there is no one to help us. Then there are times that we feel absolutely discouraged or have reached the point of giving up.
How can we help ourselves and children learn to persevere, stay encouraged, and to keep moving forward?
One of the best ways to do this is by example; great examples can be readily found in stories. Whatever qualities you want to cultivate in your children, just immerse them in inspiring stories that profile the desired behavior. Children love stories and have learned this way effectively for ages. Often parents are looking for children's books that will help their children learn something educational or address a specific problem like sharing, bullying, and so on. What about stories that help inspire both parents and young readers to have courage and determination regardless of the challenges we face in life?
Bee Helpful is a heart-touching tale about helping others, finding courage and determination. As we follow the main character's unexpected adventurous journey, we also learn about ourselves and a variety of lessons, with several being very subtle. Parents and children can make a game out of trying to identify all the lessons in Bee Helpful.
Some questions you can ask your children after reading the story:
1. What was Sunny Bee trying to do? Why?
2. Was Sunny able to make a difference? How?
3. What do you think Sunny learned by the end of the story?
4. What can we learn from the story?
5. What can you do if you get into a tough situation?
6. What do you think Sunny learned about asking for help?
What lessons will you and your child discover in Bee Helpful?
