Book Review: Nazmein Intzar Ki
I am not someone who is a big fan of poetry, especially in the Hindi language. I have hardly read one complete book in the Hindi language before. So, it was something new for me to explore and I am glad I came across Nazmein Intzar Ki by Smita Parikh. This book is a collection of 140 beautiful poems. Yeah, 140 poems gorgeously woven into one book that you can always carry with you wherever you go.
The cover of the book is pretty decent and simple. It could have been better designed, but as far as the content of the book is concerned, I can completely ignore the cover design. (Although, most people do change their minds over the book cover when they are in the process of deciding whether to buy the book or not.)

The very first line from the preface touched my heart by saying,
“Jo Dil Ne Kaha,
Vo Panno Par Utara.
Kuch Kavitaaye Bani,
Kuch Kahaniya, aur
Kuch Nazmein.”
and once I was gripped by the preface, it was impossible to stop or interrupt me. I read the entire book in one sitting. Here are a few titles of the poems I liked the most: Kab aaoge, Saath, Sabar ka baandh, Mujhe bta do, Main chahti hun, Faasle, Ek baar sochna, Ye din, and Aakrosh.
So, the content of the book is definitely great and I loved the writing style of Author. I loved the way poetry flows. The language is smooth and the poems that are penned down by the author has depth and are delightful. I would love to explore more books on poetry and I highly recommend you guys to give this book a try. Please don’t judge the book by its cover. I am sure you will have a great time reading it.
