Love is the Color of a Rainbow is uniquely written from the perspective of seeing the world through a child's eyes - a blind child's eyes!
"Willow, a little girl who has been blind since birth hears pit-pats of the first summer rain, she quickly encourages her Mama to go outside, Mama shares all the colors of a rainbow with Willow through nature, there Willow experiences that “Love is the Color of a Rainbow."
Author, Kathy Parra, does a fabulous job of describing things in nature like rain, snails, and butterflies.....plus concepts such as: gentle, sweet, and life by using the 5 senses. The illustrations are done in beautiful hues and add to the liveliness of the story.
The humanistic and descriptive use of the earth takes on a life of its' own with the personification of nature and references to "Mother Nature" within this story.
