“When the Gods
descend to devastate,
When Kalyuga
meets Apocalypse,
Out of a Billion,
Only one strives,

Only one achieves,
What those sages realized,
and you still haven’t,
knowing which,
one never comes back.

BOOK REVIEW: City of Nine Gates
So, I got this review copy from the Author. I was really fascinated by the title of the book and it took me only 2 sittings to complete the book because of so many reasons which you will find out soon. Before getting into the plot details, I would like to say that this book is a piece of literature every person who is interested in spirituality should read once at least.
When I started reading the book, it was more like a contemporary fiction, but as I kept turning pages I got more and more into it because it is something I love reading about and that is spiritual teachings. Spirituality subject has always been on the top even if I have to choose between self-help or motivational books and spiritual books.
Spiritual writing has a depth that carries one away or I rather say it takes one to the journey within in so many ways and this book is definitely something that did the same to me.

The title of the book is perfect and I loved the writing style of the author. The language is not that easy to understand though. There are a few pages of the glossary at the end of the book which have been so helpful throughout the read because as I mentioned it has deep spiritual teachings and a lot of words which were completely new for me especially the ones in the Sanskrit language. So, I highly recommend you to stay patient while reading and keep a check at the glossary to not get confused.
Other than above, the plot is really interesting. It’s the story of a millionaire and also an atheist, Gyan. Gyan has to embark on a journey to the city of nine gates to unlock a mystery of the Temple he discovers during the excavation of a fort or I rather say a project’s site. This book takes you on a journey to who you actually are and what the city of nine gates actually is and you will get surprised many times I promise.
Overall, it has been a great book for me and I highly suggest you witness this journey through your imagination as you go deep into this book.
