I’ve followed Candace Cameron Bure’s career since she starred as little D.J. Tanner on Full House. Since then, she has married a professional hockey player and become a mom, spoken about her Christian faith at various conferences, written inspirational books, and acted in numerous heartwarming TV movies, among many other things. As a mother myself, I’ve often wondered how she has sustained her long-term marriage, stayed very involved in her children’s lives, and hasn’t lost her sanity thanks to all of the “hats” she wears! In her new book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, we learn that while she certainly has some good ideas about how to uncover what you should choose to do -- and what you should say “no” to -- it all boils down to seeking God’s direction in all areas of your life. Whether it’s selecting a school for her children, taking on a movie role, or spending time with her husband, Candace never commits to anything until she seeks God’s guidance in her life. While she knows that all of our lives are different, and many of us aren’t going to have the same lifestyle or advantages that she has, she feels confident that prayer can help anyone, regardless of their circumstances, to find balance.
Balancing It All is a great pep talk and inspirational advice for any mother who is feeling overwhelmed with all she has to do. Candace is the first to admit that she doesn’t have her act together all the time, but when she feels herself getting stressed about being stretched too thin, she asks for divine guidance in zeroing in on her priorities -- and God always comes through.
