Description
This tag was created by Youtube Channel 'padfootandprongs07'. She asks us to name the books that really, ya know, get in touch with our emotions...'n' that.
Which book makes you feel......
1. Happy?
Title: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Author: Jonathan Safran Foer
Why it Makes Me Happy: I just love this book. So much. I'm not gonna go on about it again because I talk about it WAY too much.
2. Sad?
Title: Maus
Author: Art Spiegelman
Why it Makes Me Sad: 'Maus' is a brilliant, utterly moving account of the Holocaust, whilst also exploring the relationship between a father and son. Cry fest :-*(
3. Angry?
Title: Map of Time Author: Felix Palmer
Why it Makes Me Angry: Because it is so bad, it is so very very bad.
4. Nostalgic?
Title: Anne's House of Dreams Author: L.M Montgomery
Why it Makes Me Nostalgic: In this book, Anne is grown up and has her own children, which makes me nostalgic for her childhood and my childhood. I remember reading all the Anne sequels in one go and just sobbing because of how it was that she grew up. I was a melancholy child.
5. Scared?
Title: The Immortal Rules Author: Julie Kagawa
Why it Makes Me Scared: I find it hard to remember when books have scared me, and I don't read much horror. Recently, 'The Immortal Rules' made me feel very uneasy when I read it at night so I'm going with that. 6. Surprised?
Title: Seraphina Author: Rachel Hartman Why it Makes Me Surprised: I wasn't expecting the ending. SURPRISE...was what it was like.
7. Disappointed?
Title: Paper Towns Author: John Green
Why it Makes Me Disappointed: I didn't like it. John Green books have so much hype and...I loathed it. Actually LOATHED. I was so sad about it. 8. Distressed?
Title: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Author: Steig Larsson
Why it Makes Me Distressed: There is a scene in this book that is really horrendous and made me need to close it for a minute. Shudder. 9. Confused?
Title: Pale Fire Author: Vladimir Nabokov Why it Makes Me Confused: It is very much a is the narrator crazy/is he lying/is he the victim/is anything in this book real/ IS ANYTHING ANYWHERE REALLY REAL? Confusing.
Well, that is my list of books that really get the emotions flowing! I will now go and calm down.
