This book chat was started by Misty at The Book Rat. She asks which books we would take to a desert island under 5 categories and mine are actually very similar to her choices!
1. Book You Would Like to Re-Read
My Selection: 'Jane Eyre' by Charlotte Bronte
I think I would need this book if I was going to be stranded for a long time. Mr Rochester is perfect and love reading the conversations between him and Jane.
2. Book You've Never Read but Want to Read:
My Selection: The Complete Works of Shakespeare
I have probably read about 10 Shakespeare plays in my life, mainly through school and Uni but if I was on a desert island with nothing else to do I would definitely want to use the time to become a Shakespeare pro! or
Alternative Selection: A 'Learn Greek or Latin' Book!
I've always wanted to learn Latin or ancient Greek but I have no use for it so therefore I have no real motivation to learn! If I was stuck somewhere though I would love to learn a new skill and be able to read things in their original language!
3. A Childhood Favourite
My Selection: The 'Anne of Green Gables' series
The first book is the sweetest and loveliest book ever written and, although the sequels get progressively worse, they are still adorable and make me happy.
4. Series
My Selection: Harry Potter
These are the most re-readable books in existence so I would have to take them.
5. Free Choice- Anything You Like!
My Selection: Complete Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett
I have only read up to Book 5 so far (of about 40!) but I love them and I am determined to read them all before I die! They are so cosy and lovely. Which books would you take? Let me know!
