Blood Simple – Beau’s All Natural Brewing

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Beau's All Natural Brewing in Vankleek Hill Ontario comes their "Blood Simple" a Cacao Blood Orange Witbier. The beer pours a cloudy light orange colour with a white head. The aroma consists of blood orange, rind, sweetness, wheat, spices and citrus. The flavour on the other hand had some good cacao notes that accentuated the blood orange, rind, wheat, bready malts and more citrus notes. The alcohol content comes in at 5.3%. Beau's managed to make this a very enjoyable Witbier to drink and would be quite enjoyable on a patio.

Commercial Description: Chase away the winter blahs with a sunshiny taste of California oranges and Peruvian cacao beans! Blood Simple is a chocolate-orange riff on the classic citrus-and-spice character of a Belgian-style witbier. It is brewed with organic blood orange juice, organic orange peel, and organic cacao.

Food pairing as per brewery: Duck a l'orange, chocolate mousse
