Happy December everyone! I'm Haley from Her Mirror (haleyyyp.blogspot.com). First of all I'd like to thank Laura for this amazing opportunity to write a guest post on her wonderful blog! Second of all, I hope you all don't mind if I share some Do's and Don'ts of Christmas Shopping! So without further or do...DO's:
- Dress properly! - Don't be that person who is fixing their shirt every 5 minutes. Dress for the occasion & weather. If you know you are going to be doing a lot of walking from store to store outside, make sure you wear a coat. Nothing too heavy or you will just be uncomfortable but something that will keep you warm and that's comfortable. If you know you will be shopping inside for the day, remember that if you wear a jacket you are going to have to carry it all day! Living in New York I know the weather changes all the time. It goes from freezing to warm in a few hours, just remember to think of the plans for the whole day!
- Bring something to drink! - It's important to stay hydrated if you are going to be walking a lot getting the presents you need! You don't want to end the day of shopping with a terrible headache because you didn't drink. Carry a water bottle in your purse or if you don't feel like carrying one all day, just remember to stop at a food stand and grab a bottle of water and a pretzel. Trust me, it will help.
- Have somewhat of a game plan! - What I mean is, know where you would like to go and go there first. You never know if you skipped that one store you really needed to go to that when you go back whatever you wanted is sold out, it's not going to be a good time. Browse everywhere but know where you NEED to go.
- PANIC! - Don't freak out. I'm always full of anxiety but I promise you, don't panic. Don't panic if you can't find a certain present or if you can't think of a present idea. First take a deep breath. Second, remember there is little invention called the Internet. Online shopping can be the savior in this situation.
- Get nasty! - The stress of Christmas shopping can be extremely overwhelming. It's okay to get pissed off or angry but remember the lady who is ringing up your items is not the enemy. Just try to look for the positive (a lot easier said then done) and begin to remember that this is an amazing time of year and enjoy it. Breath in the smell of hot chocolate and exhale the aggression.
