Blogmas Day 2 - An Easy Eggnog Tutorial

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Hi loves!
Eggnog is something I have never tried, until recently. I always wanted to try it but the fact it was called 'EGGnog' always put me off slightly, for some reason I thought it was a lot more egg based than it actually is. Am I the only one who thought that?
Blogmas Day 2 - An Easy Eggnog Tutorial  Anyways! I found an easy Eggnog tutorial in a magazine and thought I would give it a whirl. Luckily for you awesome people I decided to share it with you and show you my finished result.
Here's what you'll need;-
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup rum or brandy
You can double up the recipe depending on how much you want to make but keep in mind that you should consume this within 2 days of making this because of the eggs and cream.
Instructions:
  • Add the milk, Nutmeg, Cinnamon & Vanilla into a large saucepan and bring to a slight boil on a low heat.
  • In a seperate bowl, combine the eggs and sugar and beat or whisk until light, white and fluffy.
  • Once complete, combine the milk formula into the large bowl and stir. Empty all of the ingredients back into the saucepan and keep on a low heat for a few minutes. Do not allow to boil though!
  • Allow it to cool for an hour or two before adding in the cream & alcohol before stirring.
  • Pour the mixture into your glasses and grate some nutmeg & chocolate over the top and add a cinnamon stick if you like. Put them in the fridge overnight to allow the flavours to infuse!
Easy as 1,2,3! If I can do it, trust me you can!
