I also spent a few bob on Christmas gifts whilst I was over there but I won't be showing those because, Santa.
So first up, I bought the Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette in Sephora. I didn't go over there with the intention of buying this, but when I saw it in the flesh, I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. It's just SO pretty. Someone at a Mac counter once told me that because I have some pink in my skintone I shouldn't wear pink or red toned makeup. Weeeelll tough, I'm breaking the so called 'rules' and rocking it anyway! The red toned shadows are gorgeous and I can't wait to wear them over the festives.
I went a little bit 'kid in a candy shop' when I approached the miniatures section near the tills. I saw the Better Than Sex mascara in mini form. MINI FORM? How could you NOT be excited by that? I also picked up the Naked Skin Concealer which I had never tried and the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in mini form. Woaahhh! MINI OVERLOAD!
When I approached the till to pay, A girl called 'Daisy' who was LOVELY asked me if I wanted to be a beauty VIP insider person thingy (where you collect points on your card) I happily accepted after forgetting to sign up for the last 5 years of shopping with them. Because I'd spent about $200 I was offered a miniature for free and I opted for the IT Cosmetics CC cream. I've heard such amazing things about this but sadly, it's too dark for me *sob*.
I saw that the Sephora Formula X Nail polishes were down to $5 - Bargain! This one is a collaboration with Huda Beauty and is in shade "First Date". It's a gorgeous deep berry color and I thought this would be gorgeous on my toes.
I saw this in Sephora after being determined to buy a brow product (My dip brow is drying out *Sob*) and saw the retractable brow pencil. This is AMAZING! What makes it so amazing? how fine the tip is, it's super pigmented, not too waxy and the spooly is the best one I've ever used - it's more like a brow comb than a spooly. I wish I'd bought more!
From the Mac counter in the airport, I bought Satin Taupe eyeshadow and Lady Danger Lipstick. I LOVE the eyeshadow but I'm saving the lipstick for Christmas Day :D
I also bought the Sephora Rouge Mat Lipstick which is a deep red burgundy shade in a matte consistency. I wore this in NYC once and it was a bit drying which is to be expected for a matte lipstick. I love the shade and the fact it lasted all night long so I'm definitely going to give this another shot.
Finally, I bought the Wet n Wild Mega Volume Mascara after hearing really good things about Wet n Wild mascara's. I was really disappointed with this :( It's watery, smells a bit and doesn't do much to my lashes. I'm struggling to think of anything good to say about it which is sad but I'd definitely be open to trying more from the range.
