Description (from cover):
'Molly Murphy Sullivan's husband Daniel, a captain in the New York City police force, is stumped. He's chasing a murderer whose victims have nothing in common--nothing except for the taunting notes that are delivered to Daniel after each murder. And when Daniel receives a note immediately after Molly and her young son Liam are in a terrible train crash, Daniel and Molly both begin to feat that maybe Molly herself was the target.
Molly's detective instincts are humming, but finding the time to dig deeper into this case is a challenge. She's healing from injuries sustained in the crash and also sidetracked by her friends Sid and Gus's most recent hobby, dream analysis. And when Molly herself starts suffering from strange dreams, she wonders if they just might hold the key to solving Daniel's murder case.
Rhys Bowen's characteristic blend of atmospheric turn-of-the-century history, clever plotting and sparkling characters will delight readers in The Edge of Dreams, the latest in her bestselling Molly Murphy series.'
My thoughts:
If there is one author that I know that will never disappoint, it's Rhys Bowen. I love her writing style, her characters and her mysteries. I simply cannot get enough. I wish she would write a new book every single day, as I simply cannot get enough. I adore her Lady Georgiana series and this series. The only series that I have yet to partake is the Evan's series, but that is just a lack of finding time to track the series down. Rhys Bowen is a superb author and if you haven't discovered her yet, then I have absolutely no idea what you are waiting for.
Reading a book with Molly Murphy is like catching up with an old friend. I love Molly's character. She is witty, sharp and sassy. She is eccentric and stubborn and doesn't know what it's like to let something go. She always seems to find a way into stumbling into some sort of murder mystery, and well I find them to be simply amazing. Molly is probably one of my favorite characters in a cozy series and I applaud Bowen for creating such a well-rounded character. Molly is not one to step back down and let something happen without her having to use her brain to figure it out. I love her gumption and her penchant for justice.
Molly's husband, Daniel, is struggling with a monumental murder case and Molly can't stand watching him beat himself over something. She decides that she must use her bright mind to help him and ends up solving a murder in the process. Once again, I found that I was highly amused and highly sad when the book ended. Now I just have to wait for the next release in order to get my Molly kick.
