BLK Cosmetics Fresh Exfoliating Lip Scrub Review

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

I don't like using physical scrub on my face, but when it comes to my lips, I allow it. Although a lip scrub is not something I prioritize when I buy skincare products, sometimes I really need it especially when I wear liquid matte lipsticks that are very hard to remove like Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink. Seriously, an oily makeup remover is not enough for that one. So when I saw one of my favorite Filipino beauty brands launch one for their summer collection, I must try it. Below is my BLK Cosmetics Fresh Exfoliating Lip Scrub review.

And take note, this product is not for cats. My Loki just likes to be a model.

WHAT IS IT?

BLK Cosmetics Fresh Exfoliating Lip Scrub gently exfoliates with sugary goodness. It claims to remove flaking and dryness and leave your lips with the softest, silkiest kisser ever. It features a delish coco scent that's seriously addictive and almost good enough to eat.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Apply a small dollop on clean lips and massage using your finger with circular motions, covering the entire lip surface. Wipe off with tissue.

PACKAGING: Just like the BLK Cosmetics Fresh Tinted Balm, this is also packaged in a rubber and plastic tube. And yes, you have to squeeze with a little more effort too.

SCENT: It smells sweet like coconut candy. And it taste really sweet like candy.

FORMULA & TEXTURE: It feels like it has a mixture of balm, oil, and sugar.

MY EXPERIENCE

I don't really find anything extraordinary with the BLK Cosmetics Fresh Exfoliating Lip Scrub, it's just like every other sugar lip scrub I've tried. It makes my lips soft and moisturized, just like others, but at least this one taste REALLY good, you will not mind the residue left on your lips. It's actually quite delicious if you kiss someone with it.

My only issue is, I left it on the bathroom shelf, and after 3 days, it becomes too oily and I think some sugar already dissolved. I have to shake and squeezed the tube really hard for the sugar scrubs to come out because only the oil is coming out. So if you're thinking if I'm going to buy this again, well, no. I will consider the BLK Cosmetics Fresh Tinted Balm, but not this one.
