A mob of dozens of Obama’s sons and daughters robbed a Chevron convenience store in Bryan, Texas.
Nicole Marten reports for KBTX TV that on the night of Jan. 4, 2014, “a crowd of kids” swarmed and “ransacked” the Chevron Food Mart at William J. Bryan and Highway 21 in “20 minutes of mayhem.”
Store Clerk Terry Polsgrove says it was just your average Saturday night, “It was pretty slow, I was about to close the store and I had like two customers.” But around 11:15, “I started seeing more and more kids coming into the store. I called my co-worker in to come help me out and keep an eye on them because we’ve been having a lot of stealing in the store.”
But before he knew it, Polsgrove and his co-worker were being ambushed, “this young lady yelling, ‘Hey, come on in and get it! They’re giving away free stuff!’ so they started taking everything so I figured I’d shut the door and keep everyone separated, but as you can see I was overwhelmed.”
In all there were more than five separate security cameras from inside the store watching their every move. Each camera shows the teens stealing candy, food, drinks and anything they could get their hands on.
“It happened so fast, within a matter of 20 minutes I was being overwhelmed by kids ages eight to 17, I mean I was just shocked,” said Polsgrove. ”I don’t know if it was planned or what, but it was crazy.”
Polsgrove was finally able to call police after the teens ran off.
“When you watch this video, it’s appalling to see these young children acting the way they were,” said Bryan Police Department Public Information Officer Kelley McKethan. ”Just because the child didn’t take a bag of chips; if they’re a part of it or egging it on, they can also be charged with it as well.”
Police say the suspects could be charged with vandalism, theft, organized crime and even assault. Several parents have come forward to police with statements. While no charges have been filed yet, police say they’re going to investigate the crime to the fullest.
