Serena Williams is making history once more by winning her 20th Grand Slam at the 2015 French Open, making her two shy from from tying Steffi Graf for the most Grand Slams ever in women’s tennis. To win her 20th Grand Slam, Serena had to overcome incredible odds.
Serena had to overcome the flu to beat Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic in three sets – 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 6-2.
Steffi Graf also praised Serena on her 20th win and expects the tennis star to one day tie her record or beat it. “I think [Serena] is living in an exciting time. Honestly, I think she can get there and then do much better because she has the talent and the opportunities. I really won’t worry if Serena beats my record or not, I have never been interested in numbers. I gave everything in my career. It’s not a problem if she does better than me — it won’t keep me from sleeping,” Steffi shared. Congrats Serena on your 20th win!!! I can’t wait to see many more wins from you!!!
