Excerpt:
“Azrael?” she asked.
“Yes,” Ally answered. Her gaze did not waiver from the ancient Nosferatu.
“Then we are at the end of our days,” she said, turning away and joining the rest of the Council.
“She bears the marks of the Authority. The guard from the Gates, all the great leaders together,” Mariah said hurriedly, “this means something. My days here have not been long. I am still young, but all these signs and different walks of life have been brought together. We are all here. There is purpose behind everything. I have account that the Devourer has manifested, is physically here, on Earth. He is raising an army, even more potent than that of necrosapiens,” Mariah said.
“He’s gathering the Hell Hounds from the Void and will unleash them. We must band together. The Apocalypse will descend on us all. The balance has been tipped. We still have time to save the world, but we must all stand together. Silva—the guard from the Gates—led your princess to us, and through Ally, her marks have led us here. It is wise to pay heed to any sign from the Gates, from the Authority himself,” Belle Crow said, her purple stone glowing bright.
The Council members looked back and forth to each other, as though reading each other’s thoughts.
Nicolette looked to Ally and said, “Then this means…” The large double doors burst open. His head lowered, chest rising and falling sharply, Marik looked to the Council then leveled his gaze with Ally and said, “War.”

By age 5, Sasha Hibbs' favorite movie was Gone With the Wind. By age 12, she completed her 7th grade book report on the sequel, Scarlett. By 18, she met and married her very own Mr. Rhett Butler and as it turns out, she never had to worry about going back to Tara to win the love of her life back. Fortunately, he stuck with her. With a love of all things paranormal, the ambiance of the South with its gigantic antebellum mansions and canopies of Spanish moss, and a love for her husband’s rich storytelling of blacksmiths and the mythology surrounding their origins, it wasn’t long until the world of her debut novel, Black Amaranth, was born.
When not working her day job as a nurse, you can find Sasha dreaming of her next beach trip, reading the latest YA novel, and drinking more white chocolate mocha than she should.
Sasha lives in mountainous West Virginia with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters, Aeliza and Ava. She is currently hard at work on book two in The Vulcan Legacies series.
