I can officially announce my big news!! After immersing myself in the world of food blogging and learning to love being in the kitchen, I am finally making food my career!
I will be working as a sous chef for Publix Aprons Cooking School. If you aren’t familiar with Publix Aprons, take the time to Google it. Publix is a major grocery store chain — an employee owned, amazing company to be part of. Publix Aprons Cooking School is found at 7 locations in Florida and 1 in Georgia. Lucky for me, one of those Florida locations is right around the corner! The school teaches classes, demonstrations, puts on private parties, hosts celebrity and local chefs, and even offers kids and teens cooking camps. There is an also an event planning division that helps you with every aspect of putting together your event — everything from menus to decorations — and will deliver it all to your doorstep. I’ll be split between the two parts of Aprons, the cooking school and event planning. I am so excited to start on this new path in my life. One of the things I have learned is that you can never be satisfied with just being content. You must always strive for more, for better, and for the things you love. That’s exactly what I did and look what I have been able to achieve. This career change is going to be so good for me — not only am I going to get to do what I love day in and day out, but I am going to learn so much! Remember, I am a home cook and I can always stand to learn more. In fact, I relish in it. I want to take in everything and learn as much as I can from the Aprons team.
If you’re find yourself in the Boca area, stop in for a class! I'd love to see some of my local readers in one of our classes! Check out the calendar for the next couple months right here.
