Former congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul tweeted a startling reaction to the death of SEAL sniper Chris Kyle on Monday:

Better to Die By The Sword Than To Live As Coward Like You Ron Paul Ron Paul @RonPaul

Chris Kyle’s death seems to confirm that “he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.” Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense

What doesn’t make sense is you sticking your nose in something that you know absolutely nothing about. One of the treatments for PTSD involves:

  • Trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy for PTSD and trauma involves carefully and gradually “exposing” yourself to thoughts, feelings, and situations that remind you of the trauma. Therapy also involves identifying upsetting thoughts about the traumatic event–particularly thoughts that are distorted and irrational—and replacing them with more balanced picture.

Now I interpret that as saying being around other servicemen and firearms in a controlled environment and exposed to the stigma that triggers PTSD in an attempt to lessen it’s effects.

Even though you are a physician  and you did serve in the Texas Air National Guard, you don’t know jack about PTSD and you need to STFU! I hope the next time you feel the need to dishonor a hero and a highly decorated veteran, that he or one brothers in arms introduces your head to your rectal cavity.

Kyle and a friend were both killed by a veteran struggling with PTSD while working with him at a gun range on Saturday.

The former Marine, Eddie Ray Routh, turned his weapon on the other two men and shot them at close range, according to news accounts.

Kyle was the author of the best-selling “American Sniper,” which detailed his time as a record-holding SEAL sniper.

Paul has a long history of being opposed to American military intervention abroad.
