Zara dress (similar, similar, similar), Bauble Bar earrings (similar), Nine West pumps, F21 Jacket (similar, similar), Michael Kors watchWe all have our favorites. An old LBD, that t-shirt that hangs to absolute perfection, or the shoes that are only dusted off for really special occasions. Those pieces that when slipped on, make us feel like a million bucks. Well I truly treasure everything about this outfit. It’s no secret that I’m weak for a good moto jacket and that I'm have a moment with this vibrant shade of blue. Not to mention this dress hugs every curve I have, to which there are many! But those reasons pale in comparison to the true basis for my fondness. This dress comes with very special memories that are close to my heart; Most notably, the first date with my love. One of the greatest nights of my life. Then again on our one year anniversary, which quite honestly was almost as amazing as our first date.
They say that scent is a powerful memory trigger, but for me it’s often clothing that brings forth a rush of nostalgia. I always remember what I was wearing, but especially for the standout moments of my life. The ruffled J.Crew cardigan I wore on my first day at my job six years ago, my first "trendy top" and choker (eek!) from Forever 21 that I purchased for a frat party in college, or the BCBG lace dress I wore to one of my college roommate's weddings.
Those pieces will forever hold a special significance. But nothing comes close to this one.
