My mom bought this cute little bench during the summer at an estate sale for $30. There is a spot in her entryway where she has always wanted a bench and hasn’t been able to find one narrow enough. When I say always, I’m talking 19 years. That’s a long time to be looking for a bench. Well she finally found one and then it sat on the back porch for months waiting for it’s redo. I guess when you’ve waited 19 years, what’s a few more months! I decided to redo it for her so she could finally put it in it’s spot.
This is a homemade bench and let me tell you, that thing is solid. They also had it painted a pale baby blue color. My mom had started the process of sanding it. Since I loathe sanding, I called it good.
When I asked her about the color she wanted, she requested a tan/cream color. Of course, there was neither of those colors on hand so I made it. I took white and tan and mixed them together to get the color I wanted.
After two coats of paint, there she is. Her new color is perfect.
And here is her new home. Now if I can just convince mom to do an entry makeover…
